The Yellowknife Car Share Co-op, Outpost and Yellowknife Motors are excited to announce that a new Chevrolet Bolt Electric Vehicle (EV) has been added to our fleet.

The 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV, aka ‘Frosty’ is located at Outpost, the newly renovated private studio apartments at 5115 50th Street (formerly the Northern Lights Motel). Outpost, owned and operated by Rob Warburton, is the main sponsor. Rob is a founding member of the YK Car Share and is always looking for the best way to use urban space and improve our community.

Yellowknife Motors is pleased to join Outpost as a vehicle sponsor. All YK Car Share vehicles are GM EVs and Yellowknife Motors’ EV technicians have serviced them all professionally over the past 5 years. Yellowknife Motors has Yellowknife’s largest stock of electric vehicles - from the Blazer to Silverado pick-up.

Car sharing is exactly what it says in the name - we share vehicles. You can reserve one of our electric vehicles by the hour or by the day using our online system. The YK Car Share takes care of the rest: car payments, charging, insurance, maintenance and repairs. In addition to the Outpost location mentioned above, we have a Bolt EV stationed at Somba K’e park, near City Hall. We offer a range of plans with rental rates starting at $10/hour. Drivers are provided with a key-FOB and reserve the vehicles online.

The car share is currently running a ‘Be our Valentine’ draw. The winner of the draw will receive four hours of free driving time. Anyone is welcome to enter the draw.
