FRANCE BENOIT -PRESIDENT

France is a policy advisor turned filmmaker who then decided to become a farmer. She recently sold her off-grid home and farm of 27 years to move downtown Yellowknife. The move was prompted by a desire to live more sustainably by going car-less, moving into an old trailer and taking it to higher levels of energy efficiency and continuing to operate Le Refuge Farm, now a smaller downtown community farm. In summer, she can be seen taking her products to the Yellowknife Farmers Market on her electric bike.
